Itinerary
Day 1: Hometown Canada - Beijing
Being your Ancient China expedition from your hometown - Canada to Beijing.
Day 2: Beijing
Upon arrival in Beijing you'll be met by your Beijing guide and transferred to your hotel.Hotel: 5* Oriental Bay Hotel or similar
Day 3: Beijing
This morning you'll take a stroll around Tian'anmen Square - The gateway to the Imperial Palace surrounding with monuments and government edifices. The Imperial Palace - the "Forbidden City" - the sequestered world of China's last emperor. After lunch, your tour coach will then take you off to the Summer Palace where you will get a good view on a boat ride of Kunming Lake. This evening you will feast on a Peking Duck Dinner. (B/L/D)
Day 4: Beijing
Head to the northwest of Beijing The Great Wall. After lunch, visit one of the thirteen Ming Tombs laid out in a valley north of Beijing. This evening you will enjoy a brilliant Martial Arts Kung Fu spectacular. (B/L/D)
Day 5: Beijing / Xian
Morning flight to Xi'an - the ancient capital of eleven dynasties. After lunch, visit the Wild Goose Pagoda and Shaanxi Provincial Museum. (B/L/D)Hotel: 5* Sunshine International Hotel or similar
Day 6: Xian
Visit one of the most amazing archaeological finds of the 20th Century - The Terra Cotta Warriors Museum - the burial grounds of Emperor Qingshi Huangdi with its thousands of life sized warriors and horses assembled to guard his afterlife. After lunch, take a walk atop the Ancient City Wall. Tonight you'll enjoy a tasty tranditional Xi'an special Dumpling Banquet followed by a very colourful Tang Dynasty Show. (B/L/D)
Day 7: Xian / Guilin
Morning flight to Guilin. On arrival you'll be met by your local guide and taken to see Elephant Trunk Hill, Fubo Hill and Reed Flute Cave. Dinner at the hotel. (B/L/D)Hotel: 4* Park Hotel or similar
Day 8: Guilin
Embark on a tranquil Li River Cruise. Your riverboat will wind its way through the Guilin's rounded limestone mountain landscape. Disembark at Yangshuo where you'll have time to poke about its colourful market before heading back to Guilin by coach. This evening you will enjoy a Guilin Folk Dance and Music Show. (B/L/D)
Day 9: Guilin / Hangzhou
Morning flight to Hangzhou. You'll visit Lingyin Temple. A Hangzhou Local Cuisine Dinner will be prepared for you tonight. (B/L/D)Hotel: 4* Red Star Culture Hotel or similar
Day 10: Hangzhou / Suzhou
Enjoy a cruise on Hangzhou's beautiful West Lake. Later you'll pass by Qiantang River on your way to a Longqing Tea Plantation. After lunch, transfer to the garden city of Suzhou. Dinner at a local restaurant on arrival. (B/L/D)Hotel: 4* Gloria Plaza Hotel or similar
Day 11: Suzhou / Shanghai
Visit the Humble Administrator’s Garden (Zhuozhengyuan) and Lions Grove. Visit a silk factory before stopping for a western buffet lunch. Next stop: Santang Canal Village - where you'll be punted along the picturesque Grand Canal. The last leg of your coach ride takes you to Shanghai, the most densely populated city in China. Day 12: Shanghai
This morning - a carpet factory tour followed by a visit to Yu Yuan (Yu Garden) in the heart of old Shanghai. Shanghai cuisine lunch. Promenade along The Bund - the busy river traffic on the Huangpu, and ultra-modern Pudong on the opposite shore. Time permitting - a bit of shopping along Nanjing Road. Tonight, enjoy an extremely skilful Chinese acrobatics performance. (B/L/D)
Day 13: Shanghai
Transfer to Shanghai Expo with admission fee included and free time to visit. At designated time in the afternoon, the coach will send you back to your hotel. Own arrangement for lunch and dinner. (B)
Day 14: Shanghai - Hometown Canada
After breakfast, bid farewell to China and board your flight for your journey home. (B)
