Itinerary

Day 1: Hometown Canada - Beijing

Being your "Splendid China" adventure from your hometown - Canada to Beijing.

Day 2: Beijing

Upon arrival, meet your local guide and transfer to your hotel.

Hotel: 5* Oriental Bay or similar

Day 3: Beijing

This morning you'll take a stroll around Tian'anmen Square - The gateway to the Imperial Palace surrounding with monuments and government edifices. The Imperial Palace - the "Forbidden City" - the sequestered world of China's last emperor. After lunch your tour coach will then take you off to the Summer Palace where you will get a good view on a boat ride of Kunming Lake. This evening you will feast on a Peking Duck Dinner. (B/L/D)

Day 4: Beijing

Head tothe northwest of Beijing The Great Wall. After lunch, visit one of the thirteen Ming Tombs laid out in a valley north of Beijing. This evening you will enjoy a brilliant Martial Arts Kung Fu spectacular. (B/L/D)

Day 5: Beijing

This morning you will visit The Temple of Heaven where emperors presided over prayers and rituals for good weather and bountiful harvests in ancient time. Afternoon experience a very enjoyable bicycle ricksaw tour of a "Hutong". (B/L/D)

Day 6: Beijing / Xian

Morning flight to Xi'an - the ancient capital of eleven dynasties. After lunch, visit the Wild Goose Pagoda and Shaanxi Provincial Museum. (B/L/D)
Hotel: 5* Sunshine International Hotel or similar

Day 7: Xian

Tour one of the most amazing archaeological finds of the 20th Century - The Terra Cotta Warriors Museum - the burial grounds of Emperor Qingshi Huangdi with its thousands of life sized warriors and horses assembled to guard his afterlife. After lunch, visit the Ancient City Wall. Tonight, you will be treated to a traditional Xi'an special Dumpling Banquet followed by a very colourful Tang Dynasty Show. (B/L/D)

Day 8: Xian / Shanghai

Morning flight to Shanghai. Visit Yu Garden the heart of old Shanghai. Promenade along The Bund and wander around People's Square. Time left for shopping along the Nanjing Road precinct. This evening you'll enjoy an amazingly skilful Chinese acrobatic show. (B/L/D)
Hotel: 5* Sky Fotune Hotel or similar

Day 9: Shanghai

Transfer to Shanghai Expo with admission fee included and free time to visit. At designated time in the afternoon, the coach will send you back to your hotel. Own arrangement for lunch and dinner. (B)

** For tours in Jan - Apr, you will be going on an excursion to Zhujiajao, a river town near Shanghai in the morning time. Afternoon free at leisure. (B)
