Reservations

All reservations will be made through registered travel agents. Reservations are considered confirmed after a deposit has been received.

Deposit

A deposit of CA$500.00 per person is required within 7 days from the time of booking. A tour invoice will be issued by fax or forwarded to the booking agent.

Final Payment

Final and full payment is required 45 days prior to departure.

Cancellations

All cancellations must be made in writing to JBC Travel by the booking agent. The date of receipt of the cancellation notice will determine what penalties, if any, will be assessed, in accordance with the following schedule:

After the booking was confirmed: CA$150.00 per person;

45-30 days prior to departure: CA$300.00 per person;

29-08 days prior to departure: CA$750.00 per person;

07-01 days prior to departure: 75% of the tour price per person;

Within 24 hours prior to departure and/or after departure: 100% forfeiture of tour price per person.

Refunds

There will be no refunds once the tour has commenced. There will also be no refunds for unused tour arrangements, domestic and international flights, ground transportation and hotel accommodations.

Tour Price

Tour price includes air and surface transportation as arranged. Tour price is quoted in Canadian dollars. All prices are subject to change without notice.

Tour price does not include:

Meals not specified in the itinerary; optional tours; all domestic and international airport taxes and fees; visas (including China visas); gratuities; laundry; liquor; excess baggage charges; usage of telephones, faxes, internet, and telexes; travel and baggage insurance; airport improvement fees; air travel security fees; Canadian Navigation Surcharge of CA$30.00 per person; and items of a personal nature and not specifically listed as included.

Passport and China Visa

A valid passport is required which must be valid for at least six months after the scheduled return of the tour. A China visa is required for Canadian nationals visiting the People’s Republic of China, at a cost of CA$55.00 per person. A Vietnam visa for Vietnam, at a cost of CA$90.00 per person. A Cambodia visa can be applied upon arrival at a cost of US$20.00 per person. JBC Travel will handle visa applications for the participants prior to departure from Canada. Nationals from other countries must check with the booking agent regarding visa requirements. JBC Travel cannot accept responsibility for alternate or additional land or air arrangements for alternate or additional land or air arrangements incurred by tour participants with improper documentation.

Insurance

JBC Travel recommends that all tour participants ensure that they have sufficient trip cancellation, hospital/medical, and baggage insurance coverage prior to departure. Contact your travel agent for more information.

Health Requirements

Currently none of the areas included in the itineraries require certificates of vaccination. However, this is subject to change at any time.

Baggage

JBC Travel can assume no responsibility for lost or damaged baggage. Baggage allowance currently in effect on trans-Pacific flights is not more than two (2) pieces of checked baggage with combined total dimensions not exceeding 107 inches (272cm) and no single piece exceeding 62 inches (157cm). Baggage allowance in China and the Orient is restricted to 20 kilos/44 pounds. Additionally, one (1) piece of carry-on luggage is allowed which may not exceed 22 lbs/45 inches (114cm). Excess baggage charges are the responsibility of the tour participant.

Tour Escorts

A local bilingual English/Chinese-speaking representative will be provided at each city to meet the tour on arrival and will accompany the tour until departure for the next city on the itinerary. A tour director will accompany each tour group consisting of 15 or more participants.

Air Transportation

Air transportation is based on round-trip economy excursion fares as published by the airline. All fares quoted are subject to change without notice by the airline.

Meals

Within China, three meals will be provided daily, except as noted in the itinerary.

Accommodation

Deluxe class accommodations are used where available and are based on double occupancy in a room with private bathroom. Single supplement charges are indicated in the brochure programs.

Transfers and sightseeing

All transfers and sightseeing are by air-conditioned motor coach, car or other conveyance.

Responsibilities

JBC Travel Canada Ltd acts only as agent and/or intermediary for the independent suppliers. The suppliers who provide transportation, conveyance, or accommodations are independent contractors and are not agents or employees of JBC Travel. JBC Travel assumes no liability for any injury, damage, loss, accident, delay or irregularity. JBC Travel reserves the right to withdraw any tour published in this program and to substitute hotels if necessary. JBC Travel further reserves the right to decline, accept or to retain any person as a member of any tour at any time. All matters within China are arranged by the Chinese travel authority or delegated handling travel agency who themselves reserve the right to make alterations or adjustments to the overall arrangements within China. JBC Travel and subsidiaries or affiliates of JBC Travel are not responsible for any such alterations made by the Chinese travel authority or its delegate.
